IS THE KICK THE BUCKET MOUSE TRAP SAFE?

Yes! It is very safe. The Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap has no snaps to worry about. There is no need to worry about catching your fingers while setting the trap and no concern that a child could get his or her hand caught in a snap trap. No chemicals, no poisons or pesticides. It is safe to use near your dogs and cats. There is no poison to eat and they cannot get caught in it.

CAN I USE THE MOUSE TRAP INSIDE AND OUTSIDE?

Yes! It works everywhere!

WHERE SHOULD I PUT THE MOUSE TRAP?

Place it anywhere rodents are a concern.

Exterior perimeter protection (preventing entry) - Key areas to protect to prevent entry of mice into your home or RV are near the foundation of your home or near the wheels or jacks of your RV. Place the mouse trap beside the foundation of your house exterior. You can put it in gardens, behind plants, or on the grass. It doesn’t really matter as long as you put it near the foundation. Mice will follow the base of the foundation looking for small holes to enter your home. They will enter the mouse trap instead. Put a trap every 40’ to 50’ along the exterior. A typical house will require about 3 or 4 Kick The Bucket Mouse Traps to prevent entry along the exterior foundation of the house. This is the first line of rodent defense which creates a mouse shield around the building. Put the mouse trap near your house, office, warehouse, shed, hot tub, pool equipment, deck and garbage bins. Anywhere you are worried about mice getting in. Protect it by placing a Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap near it. That also means your cottage, car, truck, boat and recreational trailer.

Interior protection - It is important to have interior traps set to trap any mice before they get established. An all out mouse infestation can happen in just a couple of weeks. Put the mouse trap anywhere you have noticed signs of rodent activity before. They will often frequent the same areas. Common areas to place the mouse trap are in your basement, attic, garage, crawl space and inside laundry sink cabinets. The mouse trap can also go inside pantries, kitchens and bathrooms if you are noticing mouse droppings.

LIVE OR KILL - DID YOU KNOW?

The Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap is designed to trap multiple mice at a time. This works best as a Kill Trap when filled with water and the “Floating Trap Floor Filter Rocks”.

You can also Live Trap mice by simply not putting water in the bucket. The thing to know is: your effort to be a kind and loving person by catching and releasing can quickly become very inhumane. Mice are cannibals. If more than one mouse is trapped, they often kill each other and... it’s not good. So be sure to release the live mouse immediately if you intend to use the trap for live catch. Just don’t be surprised if the mouse you just let go in the forest beside your house tries coming back again.

Most customers will use the Kick the Bucket Mouse Trap as a Kill Trap. Drowning a mouse (although this sounds not nice) is the safest and most humane way to deal with mice. Most governmental agencies recommend drowning rodents as the preferred method to kill them. (Put PMRA article)

We understand at this point in your reading you probably feel like “I really don’t want to think about this anymore!” We understand how you feel, but you must be armed with this knowledge to prevent rodents and protect your family and property.

HOW MANY MICE WILL IT HOLD?

The Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap can catch up to 50 mice before it is full and requires emptying. Hopefully you don’t have that big of a problem. But if you do, we have you protected!

HOW LONG CAN IT TRAP BEFORE EMPTYING

The Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap is the ONLY trap available that can trap for extended periods. All other traps require emptying within just a few days to prevent the dreaded dead mouse smell. Those who have smelled it know it is not pleasant! The Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap has a filter which greatly extends the length of time before it needs to be emptied. So it is perfect for protecting your cottage, RV or home while you are away. Who wants to check traps everyday if you could go for months before emptying? Amazingly, the trap can go as long as 6 months before needing a replacement filter. Factors that would reduce the length of time between emptying and replacing the filter are the amount of mice caught in the trap and hot summer temperatures. Under normal circumstances, the trap can go for a few months catching a dozen mice without noticing any smell. Although the trap can continue trapping for long periods without emptying, we recommend emptying the trap as soon as captures have been made, if it is not at a remote location difficult to get to such as a stored RV or a closed-up cottage.

WHAT BAIT WORKS BEST IN THE MOUSE TRAP?

We recommend peanut butter or peanut oil. Both are extremely effective. Grass seed or bird seed can be used as an alternative if you have a peanut allergy.

WHERE SHOULD I PUT THE BAIT?

Put the bait in the black cap on the bait block. Put a trace amount of peanut butter on the ramp and on the side of the roller nearest the bait block.

HOW MUCH WATER GOES IN THE TRAP?

Fill with water to fill line on the inside of bucket. Approximately 1 gallon. It is very important to use RV plumbing antifreeze instead of water if there is any chance of freezing temperatures. If the water freezes, the trap won’t work properly.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE FLOATING TRAP FLOOR FILTER ROCKS?

They should be replaced every 6 months or whenever the trap is emptied. Do not reuse them. Every Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap comes with 3 Floating Trap Floor Filter Rock pouches. More replacement filter pouches can be purchased at retail stores or the online store at kickthebucketmousetrap.com

HOW DO I EMPTY THE TRAP?

Remove the ramp. Open the lid and pour the contents out. Be careful to not pour it out the side entrance hole near the ramp.

WHERE DO I EMPTY THE TRAP?

The Floating Trap Floor Filter Rocks are natural rocks and can be buried outdoors or put in the garbage.

HOW DO I CHECK THE TRAP TO SEE IF I HAVE CAUGHT SOMETHING?

The trap is designed to contain all the mice under the layer of filter rock. You will need to gently push the filter rock layer to one side to view the contents of the trap. A small piece of disposable cardboard works best to push the layer to one side.

WHY IS KICK THE BUCKET MOUSE TRAP THE WORLD’S BEST MOUSE TRAP?

It is the only mouse trap that can trap multiple mice over many months without the need to empty after each capture. AMAZING! This is because of its unique filter system. It minimizes and prevents the dead mouse smell that typically shows up within just couple of days for a normal mouse trap.
It has a “Dual Trapping System “which is unlike any other mouse trap. First the “Barrel Roller” traps mice as they attempt to cross the roller to get the bait. They fall off the roller into the water below. But, all mice are not created equal. Some are very cautious and will avoid the roller and will attempt to cross the Floating Trap Floor Filter Rocks instead. They fall through the rock filter layer and end up in the water below.

ARE MICE ABLE TO DO THE THINGS I HAVE HEARD?

Yes! Mice can fit through a hole smaller than a dime. They can jump over 18 inches high. They can crawl straight up a sheet of plywood (we have video). Mice can dig through dirt and chew through rubber, plastic and wood. Mice can multiply very quickly. They can survive on very little water and food. Mice can survive extreme heat and cold. Mice have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to search for food, find nesting places and procreate. One of the most common insurance claims is due to rodent infestation.

SINCE MICE CAUSE SO MUCH DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY, HOW CAN I STOP THEM?

Protect your home - Prevention is the first line of rodent defense. Seal up any holes around your home. Check near the base of the foundation for cracks. Check the holes where TV or internet lines come through the exterior wall and ensure they are well caulked and sealed. Look for any gaps in the siding. They can use any small opening to get inside your home. Use spray foam for larger holes. It is important to put screens over any vent openings.

Place Kick The Bucket Mouse Traps near the foundation of your home. Put one trap on each side of the house. Usually, 4 traps will give thorough protection depending on the size of your house. This is a great way to trap near the outside of your home where mice are searching for entry points.

Protect your RV - You need to create a mouse shield with the Mouse Free undercoating. Mouse Free is available at www.mouse-free.com. Mouse Free is a barrier coating that is sprayed onto the bottom of RVs, tractors, cars and trailers that keeps mice and rodents off the bottom and out of your RV. Mouse Free stops entry before they get in. Seal up any holes and put screens over any vents.

Mice can also gain access from tree branches near the roof of an RV. An air conditioning seasonal cover can help to keep mice from entering the ducting system through the A/C system on the roof.

Place a Kick The Bucket Mouse Trap near the tires and jacks. This is great way to trap mice poking around outside, before they attempt to get in your RV.

DOES IT TRAP RATS?

Yes. Small juvenile rats. Larger full-grown rats are too big. Check back for our large rodent trap called the “Kick The Bucket Rat Trap”. It is designed to trap large full-grown rats.
